The International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women all over the world. The theme for the Women’s Day, this year, 8 March, 2017, is “Be Bold for Change”
The Integrated Development Organization has taken a step to work in South Sudan to empower women to be bold for change. Today, the role of women is different than it was in the past; women work outside their homes much more. Women also have more power than they have in the past; look at the positive influence of women in South Sudan today.
We have women who have positive impacts in our lives here in South Sudan; starting from our mothers, our sisters, our wives, women in the political, economic, religious and social sector. Let’s honor this day in their names and appreciate the work they are doing to make this country a better place for us to live in.
“Woman is the builder and moulder of a nation’s destiny, though delicate and soft as lily, she has a heart stronger and bolder than that of a man, she is supreme inspiration for man’s onward march” – Ravinder Nath Tagore
Now let us make a difference by thinking globally and acting locally; let’s make everyday International Women’s Day not only the 8th March.
